Early Wednesday morning, September 12th at 1:32am, Nicholas Andrew Zervis came into this world. We are so excited to have him here! He weighed in at 7lbs, 11oz and was 21 inches long. Surprisingly he has blonde hair, which Chris is hoping will soon change. Thank you to all our friends and family who came to visit and meet little Nick.
The First Week
As with any newborn, the first week is probably the toughest. We left the hospital on Friday, September 15th. Luckily Kristen's mom was able to stay for a few days and help out. We had many somewhat sleepless nights at first but he's getting into a routine. Here are a few highlights from the first week:
- He had his first bath which he wasn't too fond of
- He likes to pee and poop as soon as his diaper comes off
- Nicknames include yellow man (jaundice), chicken man (his arms flapping) and seal man (when he's really mad his cry sounds like a seal bark)
- Diaper changes are torture
- Maxx thinks he tastes pretty good
- Nick is his dad's good luck charm when it comes to the Yankees. For some apparant reason they are winning since he was born. Go figure.
With the first week down, we are feeling like pros at this parenting thing and have given up any hopes of 8 hours of sleep. It's worth it to hang out with him everyday.
