Leah is 8 months already?

For those of you who have seen Leah, she's huge. Well, not really but compared to a few months ago, she's a totally different baby. She's sitting up by herself, attempting to crawl, eating solid foods, and talking (nothing we understand). Although she seems to keep up with Nick, his occasional tackles catch her off guard and she's not too thrilled. It's hard explaining to a two year old that she's still a baby and that he needs to be gentle. They do enjoy eachothers company and her face lights up when he's in the room. I am looking forward to the day when they can really play together. They are both so lucky to have eachother.

Nick is also growing up and continues to surprise us every day. Lately his language skills have exploded and he can pretty much say anything. That includes repeating words he's not supposed to. Earmuffs anyone? His new thing is to tell us whether he likes something or not. "I no like that" or "I like that". He's obsessed with Thomas the train and knows all of them and their numbers. I don't like to say that he's in the terrible twos but he's definitely been a challenge lately. He's just showing us that he thinks he's in charge. Sadly, I recently got in an argument with him and at the end I said "mom wins" to which he replied "no, Nick win" and the conversation continued. He's competitive for sure. A few of my favorite baby words he still uses are "gaboop" for vaccuum, "motis" for tomatoes, "run" for red, "nagaboose" for caboose, and "pasibooya" for pirates booty. What's funny is that when you ask him to say them correctly, he does, but continues to use "nickspeak" for them. Pretty cute.

Not much else new, just hanging out, enjoying the quiet winter. It seems like once March hits, the craziness begins and things don't really calm down until the next January. It's amazing how much happens in a year!

Perfect example of Nick "playing" with Boo

This guy is way too cool for school

Mom, please take this silly flower off my head

Boo is so excited to play with her friend James

One last thing, congratulations are in order for Ali and Cameron who welcomed beautiful Aubrey Paige into the world on January 9th. Leah is pretty excited to have a friend to play with. Congrats Ali and Cameron, the fun times have just started!
